This “Faith, Hope, Love” Breast Cancer Quilt has been on display in the main entrance of Veterans Memorial Hospital the last couple of months. It was donated to the hospital by the local quilters pictured above, to be used as a raffle item at the hospital’s annual Women’s Health Day, which will be held on Tuesday, September 29.

The 16th annual Veterans Memorial Health Care Foundation Golf Tournament was held on Monday, June 15, at the Waukon Golf and Country Club. Twenty-seven teams of three participated in this tournament. Each team enjoyed 18 holes of golf plus lunch and dinner prepared by Rich Schulte, Marge and Bud Strike, and the Foundation Directors. |

Veterans Memorial Hospital will hold the next Prepared Childbirth Education class (formerly called Lamaze) on Saturday, July 11, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Large Conference Room. The class will end at 4:30 p.m. and lunch will be provided at Noon.

Veterans Memorial Hospital, along with the American Cancer Society, is looking for more volunteers for the Road to Recovery Program in this area. The Road to Recovery Program is a service offered by the American Cancer Society in which volunteer drivers provide cancer patients rides to and from their appointments. Drivers donate their time and the use of their personal vehicle to help ensure that cancer patients get the treatments they need. |
